Course Development Funds
Indiana University Kokomo views course development as a standard part of a faculty member’s workload and thus generally does not provide extra compensation for developing new courses, regardless of format. However, at times it provides incentives for the development of key courses that are a part of a strategic campus initiative.
In cases where course development will be incentivized, faculty will be notified by the appropriate Dean, who will provide a contract to the faculty member outlining the amount of the incentive and requirements for receiving it. If a faculty member agrees to the terms outlined in the contract, the faculty member should sign the contract and return it to the Dean. Once gaining all required approvals and signatures, the Dean will provide a final, signed copy of the contract to the faculty member.
Before offering any faculty member a course development incentive, Deans will work with the Executive Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs to develop the specific details and requirements for the incentive program, including which office has final approval over contracts and which office will administer the funds.
