Starting college can be a scary time. Moving to a new community, making new friends, and navigating classes and a college campus can feel overwhelming. At Indiana University Kokomo, we want to help you start your time here with ease.
The KEY Summer Institute (KSI) is a free program that will give you the know-how, self-confidence, and connections you need to succeed. You’ll meet 15-20 of your fellow new students and engage in fun, informative, and interactive learning about campus and academic success under the guidance of two IU Kokomo faculty members.
When is the KEY Summer Institute?
The KEY Summer Institute will be held July 30-31, and August 1 on the IU Kokomo campus.
When you enroll for the KEY Summer Institute, you are expected to attend all days of the program. The benefits of the KSI cannot be fully realized if you don’t put in the time and effort!
What will I do?
In the KSI, you’ll engage in lessons and experiences to prepare you for day-to-day life at IU Kokomo.
Your faculty leaders will share important lessons including:
- How to study efficiently and retain information.
- How to work with faculty to meet your goals and get the answers to your questions.
- How to navigate campus and find resources.
- How to manage stress and get involved in student activities and opportunities.
You’ll also hear from guest speakers during lunches (provided at no cost and attend a celebratory field trip with your KSI group at no cost!
