    Biography

    Hyunkang (H.K.) Hur, Ph.D. is an associate professor of public management in the Public Administration and Health Management (PAHM) program, School of Business at Indiana University Kokomo. He joined the PAHM, School of Business at the Indiana University Kokomo in 2016. He earned a Ph.D. in Public Management and Policy Analysis from Indiana University Bloomington and a Master of Public Policy from the University of Maryland, College Park.

    Professor Hur’s research interests are public management, human resource management in the public sector, organizational behavior, public program evaluation, public sector employee work attitudes and behavior, work motivation, comparative public administration, quantitative research methods, and meta-analysis.

    Dr. Hur’s publications include numerous articles in referred journals, including Public Administration Review, Public Management Review, Public Administration, Governance, Review of Public Personnel Administration, Public Personnel Management, Public Money & Management, Asia Pacific Journal of Public Administration, Social Justice Research, International Journal of Public Administration, International Journal of Public Sector Management, and Journal of Management & Organization.

    He has received the Best Paper Award for Asia Pacific Journal of Public Administration, and the Kenneth J. Meier Award for the Best Paper in Public Administration, Bureaucratic Politics, and Public Policy at the Midwest Political Science Association (MPSA) Conference.
