Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy
Are you interested in getting a BA in Philosophy? Do it through the Humanities Collective! IU Kokomo students can now complete their undergraduate philosophy degree at another IU regional campus. The Humanities Collective allows students to complete most of their undergraduate requirements on their home campus, and then seamlessly transfer to another regional campus to finish their philosophy degree. There are no additional costs associated with the program. And, you don’t even have to move or physically attend classes on another campus!
Because dialogue is so critical to philosophical inquiry and analysis, 21 hours in the major must be in face-to-face or synchronous videoconferencing courses. At least half of the hours in the major must be completed at the student’s home campus and at least 10 hours must be completed through the degree-granting campus.
Your path to success
How a student works through the curriculum will vary, and there’s no one correct way to complete the philosophy major in this program. This is a consequence of student interest and the different requirements of the philosophy majors at IU Northwest, IU South Bend, and IU Southeast.
Students choosing this option will enroll in IU Kokomo’s BA in Humanities program and then switch to Philosophy at the time they transfer to IU Northwest, IU South Bend, or IU Southeast. Learn more about intercampus transfer.
Here are three possible options for IU Kokomo students, one for each of the regional campuses offering a philosophy major:
