Biography
I'm Mike Glassburn, I'm a girl dad to an 8 year old and technically, I've been married to my "college sweetheart" since 2008. My favorite fun fact until I am proven wrong, is that in 2010 I became the second ever NMAT graduate of IU Kokomo.
Following my 2010 graduation, I began my career as a videographer for the marketing department at IU Kokomo, after a decade of working construction to help pay for my college education and being a part-time student.
Over my 12-year span as videographer for the IU Kokomo Media and Marketing department, I've specialized in producing video interviews using multi-camera angles and b-roll to tell the story of IU Kokomo. I've also developed (get it?) skills in photography doing portraits, landscape, lifestyle work using both natural and strobe lighting.
I started my adjunct career teaching visual communication for IVY Tech Kokomo over Zoom when COVID-19 changed everything.
I've also spent many years doing freelance work including wedding filmmaking, music videos, commercials, and dental marketing videos/photos that have taken me all over the country. I'm also an occasional YouTube vloger with intentions of developing a wide-range of tutorials. Along the way I've pushed my photography skills even further by producing family portraits and art-inspired landscape photography.
I've spent thousands of hours learning to edit in Adobe programs like Premiere Pro, Lightroom, and Photoshop. Final Cut Pro is currently my favorite video editor.
Finally, I'm a firm believer in two ideas:
1. I'll never stop learning.
2. The best camera I have is the one I have on me.
Those two points will guide me through whatever is served up to me next.
