Planning your event with Rozzi's Catering
Rozzi's Catering is proud to serve Indiana University Kokomo. We offer exceptional food and service from a variety of menus. You also can customize a menu for your event needs. IU Kokomo's Event Coordinator will be happy to work with you to help you plan and design your catering needs.
All requests for catering must go through the Event Services Specialist, whose office is in the Main Building (KO), Room 290B, email eventsch@iu.edu, or call 765-455-9449. The Event Services Specialist will work with Rozzi’s Catering, the campus food service provider, who is under contract exclusively to provide catering on and off campus.
Timeline
Orders need to be placed 10 business days in advance. Orders with a shorter notice may be accommodated, but Rozzi’s Catering may only be able to provide a limited menu. Order placed within the week that the order is needed, will be charged a rush charge. Rush charges cover the added staff time and additional product cost. Rush charges can vary between 20-40 percent depending on the request. Saturday orders require a $300 food minimum. Sun-day orders require a $500 food minimum. When orders are less than a weekend minimum, you have the leeway to order from outside sources with authorization from the Director of Finance and Administration and the Event Coordinator.
Rozzi’s Catering will provide a quote for your event. Quotes are completed once a week in priority date of the event.
Orders must be reviewed, approved, and guaranteed count provided seven (7) business days before the event. The estimated number will be used if a guaranteed count is not provided by the deadline. Linen orders may require earlier confirmation.
Cancellations/Changes
Orders must be canceled by 9 a.m. the business day prior to the event. Cancellations must be called into the Cafe office manager on duty at 765-455-9518 or 765-455-9322 with a corresponding email to robrozzi@iu.edu and the Event Services Specialist eventsch@iu.edu. If cancellations or changes are made after the deadline, you will be responsible for 100 percent of the quoted event. If your cancellation is a result of an act of nature, you will be charged for incurred expenses.
Any food purchased for the canceled event remains the property of Rozzi’s Catering. It will be at the sole discretion of the Rozzi’s Catering executive chef as to whether any purchased food can be used at a later date.
Remaining Food from Event
Immediately following the event, event organizers may take any leftover food and drinks that Rozzi’s Catering deems safe. A person taking leftover food assumes all responsibility and risk and holds Rozzi’s Catering harmless. Containers provided by Rozzi’s Catering for leftovers will be charged to the event invoice. Customer will be charged for additional guests served beyond guest count even if food is available.
***For food safety and liability reasons, Rozzi’s Catering is not able to store or reheat any leftover food that you choose to take from events.
Labor
You can choose to have servers/wait staff at your event. Any events with china dinnerware require servers, wait- staff, and other labor at $20/hour and $18/hour respectively. Rozzi’s Catering will work with the event organizer to determine the correct amount of time needed for labor. Typically labor is 2-4 hours per laborer depending on the scope of the event.
Events occurring after 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday (excluding summer sessions), after 2 p.m. on Fridays, weekends, and are less than 25 attendees; will incur labor changes depending on these factors:
- Amount of advance notice
- Time and day of the event
- Size of the event. Charges may be waived for large events.
Off-campus events and non-IU Kokomo
Off-campus events and external events on campus off-campus events will incur an 18 percent service charge. This charge covers additional costs such as transportation, additional time, and equipment.
Non-IU Kokomo and external events held on campus will incur an 18 percent service charge for full-service catering.
