The Indiana University Kokomo Art Gallery seeks to enrich the cultural life on campus, the community and throughout North Central Indiana. The gallery’s goal is to realize challenging and diverse exhibitions of student artwork as well as significant artwork from the community. These exhibitions and accompanying programming are intended to deepen the understanding and appreciation of art in both its historical context and in the contemporary moment. In addition, the gallery intends to complement the university’s visual arts curriculum as well as other academic programs encouraging an interdisciplinary vision. The Indiana University Art Gallery provides a place to engage visual art of all kinds providing the opportunity to experience and question the place of art in our time as well as develop deeper questions surrounding nature and understanding of our world. In addition, the gallery serves as a training ground for student workers interested in pursuing a career in gallery administration or other museum-related fields.
