In the School of Nursing and Allied Health Professions, the KEY is alive and well. Take part in an interprofessional disaster triage day alongside health professionals from our local hospitals. Earn Mental Health First Aid certification—a skillset highly valued in health care today. Attend a professional conference with faculty, learning from experts in our professions. Engage with students from the School of Education in an extensive Poverty Simulation experience—to walk in the shoes of people we serve.
Beyond these exceptional experiences, we have a lot of fun together, too! Join us for hilarious Nursing Olympics or the notorious Rad Races this year.
If you are a part of a clinical major, we are laser focused on providing exceptional clinical education. In nursing our Dedicated Educational Units (D.E.U.s) offer pre-licensure students a chance to work side-by-side, one-on-one with registered nurses in acute care. During these experiences, students are treated as a member of the health care team, leaving them with confidence and true on-the-job experience.
In all of our other clinical majors, a majority of your clinical learning happens one on one with an experienced clinician. This experience prepares you for success, whether you will become a radiologic technologist, occupational therapy assistant, or nurse.
