Rules Determining Resident and Nonresident Student Status for Indiana University Fee Purposes
Indiana University is a state-funded public university, in-state and out-of-state students pay different rates for tuition. The rules for determining residence are established by the Trustees of Indiana University. The initial determination of a student's residency status is made at the time of admission. If the student is found to be a nonresident and wishes to appeal the decision, the student can complete an Application for Classification as a Resident Student.
Residence classification guidelines for fee-paying purposes can be located in the residence classification guidelines, Rules Determining Resident and Nonresident Student Status for Indiana University Fee Purposes.
