Find Your Advisor
Hi there! We’re so glad you’re looking into academic advising. Building a relationship with your advisor is the best way to stay on track and reach your goals. Your advisor can walk with you every semester, offering advice, helping you think through scheduling, and assisting in whatever else may come up.
There are a few ways to get in touch. During less busy times of the year, you can set up a meeting with your advisor.
Generally speaking, if you need help during the 2nd to 7th week of a fall or spring semester, you’ll find an appointment fairly easily; from the 8th week on, you might have to wait longer for an appointment, with traffic picking up as the end of semester comes. Plan accordingly! During certain times of the year, a lot of students need advising all at once – for example, the week before classes start, the first week of classes, and about midway through when registration opens for the next semester are all peak times. Advisors will offer more drop-in times during these periods. Drop-ins are also visible in the Student Appointment Scheduler. Keep in mind that drop-in appointments are first-come, first-served, and you may need a follow-up appointment.
If you have questions about reaching your advisor, always feel free to call 765-455-9405 during business hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
