To check out library materials, you must present either your Indiana University ID or an Indiana Resident borrower's card. Expand the menus below to learn about your loan periods and how to borrow library materials.
Currently-enrolled Indiana University Kokomo students can borrow materials using their Crimson cards.
Loan periods
The loan period for IU undergraduates is 45 days for the following items:
- Cassettes
- Children's collection
- CDs
- Government Document CD-ROMs
- Government Publications
- Government Publications DVDs
- Government Publications Maps
- Maps
- Stacks (General Collection)
The loan period for the above items is 120 days for IU graduate students.
Other items-such as bestsellers, DVDs, and reserve materials-have shorter loan periods.
Renewing materials
Students may renew checked out items before they are due using the My Account feature in IUCAT. You may also renew materials in person at the Circulation desk or by phone at 765-455-9513. To renew by phone, please have handy your IU library card number, name, address, and details about the items(s) you would like to renew.
Materials with outstanding fines or with holds or recalls placed on them may not be renewed.
To renew interlibrary loan materials, send a request for renewal to iukloan@iuk.edu. Include your IU username and the title(s) of the item(s) in your email.
Kokomo-Howard County Public Library (KHCPL)
Indiana University Kokomo students are also eligible for a library card at KHCPL, regardless of where they live. Learn how to get a KHCPL library card.
Academic Libraries of Indiana (ALI)
The Indiana University Kokomo Library is a member of the ALI Reciprocal Borrowing Program. ALI Borrower cards allow IU Kokomo students to travel to other ALI member libraries and check out circulating materials. For more details, or to obtain an ALI Borrower card, visit the library's Circulation desk.
Indiana University Kokomo faculty and staff can borrow materials using their Crimson cards.

We welcome Indiana residents who would like to use our collection. Any Indiana resident 18 years of age or older can apply for an Indiana Resident (INRE) borrower's card. Indiana residents 16-17 years of age can apply for an INRE card with the approval and presence of the minor's parent/guardian. Application forms are available at the Circulation desk. A borrower's card allows you to check out materials from our library.
