Sustainability Steering Committee

  • The sustainability steering committee is a diverse group of faculty and staff that support the efforts of the Office of Sustainability.
  • The steering committee is divided into small sub-committees focusing on our different efforts.

Student Sustainability Council (SSC)

  • The Student Sustainability Council of Indiana University Kokomo serves to promote sustainable action, foster new ideas, and invoke environmental awareness on our campus and in our community. The SSC advises the Indiana University Kokomo Office of Sustainability from the perspectives of the students, working to reduce the negative effects of the University on the natural environment and to promote environmental, social, and economic justice.

Internships

Student internships are an important aspect of the Office of Sustainability. The office employs at least one intern each semester. Student interns work on a variety projects that help promote sustainability in the campus and community.

A paid internship through the Office of Sustainability provides students from a variety of backgrounds and disciplines with the opportunity to build their resume while working a flexible on-campus job. Sustainability Grants

  • Funding for sustainability-related undergraduate research, service projects, and curriculum efforts is available on an annual basis. Students, faculty and staff are eligible to apply.
Grant Application

  • Maximum award amount: $500.

Cougar Cupboard

Part of our mission in the Office of Sustainability is to make the world a better place for all. To accomplish this, we support the Cougar Cupboard and have plans to sustain the Cupboard with the harvest of the ever-growing campus garden. If you'd like to find a way to get involved, you can contact the student organization Enactus.

Our goal is big: make the world a better place to live. If this sounds like a mission you can get behind, we would love to hear from you. Together, we can make a more sustainable world for generations to come.
